I agree.. It was good to listen to gear you only read about. My favourite was AnakChan's TH900 albeit they were broken.

Thanks AnakChan for bringing some really nice gear and thanks to Temporaryname and Kremer930 for your RX3B and Smeggie's Thunderpants.

It was great meeting you all & that was my first time listening to the Smeggy's too! Quite impressive from the original Fostex T50RP which I've heard before.

I'm still around till Sunday although the days are getting booked. I've also shipped my Rx Mk3 for gain readjustment (lower noise floor) so don't have that for demo anymore.

PM me if anyone wants a last minute meet.

Oh man, I missed it during my leave of absence?

If anyone has an interest to hear some stax, you can always pm me.

I might take you up on that. Are you north or south of the river?

South. I'd prefer to meet somewhere other than my place because my room is a mess (instruments.everywhere).

You'll also have to catch me on a time that suits me (work, uni, assignments). Not for at least two weeks.

Out of curiosity, what's driving the Stax? I'm curious since the default Stax SRM amps are 100V.

SRM T1 -> Lambda sig.

A few of them have voltage switches externally, and many have voltage switches internally, I believe.

I see, cheers for the response...I've got an SRM-727A and if I do move back to Perth, that's one of my concerns. Naturally I can circumvent with getting a stepdown converter, etc. but that's not a neat solution.

I bought my set from n3rdling in the US (A head-fi member). He changed the voltage for me. I haven't openned the amp to check, but may do so later for the purpose of dusting.

Hi All,

I'm heading back to Perth again around 28th Nov -> 8th Dec. Just wondering if anyone would be free for a meet. I don't really have much new gear with me since my last visit in July. Although now I do have a case for my Fostex TH-900 ;-) so it shouldn't break during my travels. However the cups have broken and fixed twice and I'm kinda more reluctant to take it out these days however if members are truly keen on listening to the Fostex TH-900, you may be able to twist my arm into bringing it.

Aside from that, I'll probably bring the following :-

1) FitEar TG!334 with 000 balanced

2) VentureCraft Go-DAP X

3) Ortofon MHd-Q7 (this is new from Ortofon, I actually like the SQ very much...possibly over the Rx Mk3 even)

Things I have which I don't plan on bringing but may if there's sufficient interest :-

A) SR-71B (would like to sell, if there's a buyer in Perth I'm happy to bring it)

B) Original CLAS (would like to sell, if there's a buyer in Perth I'm happy to bring it)

C) Go-DAP 4.0

D) V-Moda VAmp

E) Fostex TH-900

F) DX100

G) ALO Rx Mk3

H) V-Moda M-100

As such please :-

i) let me know when and where to meet
ii) If there's anything above (A) -> (H) that you're really keen on listening (buying) and I'll bring it back

Hi AnakChan

Im happy to meet up for a coffee if everybody else is ok too. I am in Melbourne almost weekly since July - in fact I clocked 20k FF points in Sept alone so depending on time of meet I may not even be here.

Would like somewhere more central though if at all possible as Vic Park is on the other side of the city for me.

Cheers..

Hi Room40,

I'm cool with that too. BTW, if the rest of the Perth members aren't keen on any of the items I've mentioned above, please don't feel shy to say too 'cos really it'll save me weight from not having to bring the items. I personally could be extremely satisfied with just the FitEar TG!334 even in SE mode whilst travelling. I'm just suggesting those items in case members want to test and haven't had a chance to hear the products.

Cheers

Looks like Perth Head-fiers are busy for a meet as such I've updated my list of items to bring back. Room40, we should still meet up for a cup of coffee to catch up anyway :D. Others welcome to join even if it's not a geek-out session.
