Problem getting tracks in the right order in iTunes:

Recently picked up the OST for "DRIVE".

75% of the songs are by Cliff Martinez, the rest by a variety of other artists.

For some reason, when i search for the album in itunes, the songs arent in order. This is mainly b/c its got various artists.

I can just click on the "track" tab and it will be in numerical order but then I have to switch it back when i want to listen to anything else.

Whats the solution here? I tried putting "Cliff Martinez" as the "album artist" but that didnt help.

Making it a compilation didnt help either.

One solution would be to process the album with dpPoweramp, uniforming the album data..

1) order the music by album

2) select all the songs on the album

3) select properties/info (Mac vs Win) (right click menu or menu bar)

4) put the main album artist name into the "album artist" field ( "Various Artists" works too as the name)

5) click "ok"

This should do it.

If not, use that method to correct the track numbers for each song (track x of y)

You might have to change the track artist to the same name, perhaps put the real artist names into the comment field.

Thanks Bones, I think this works.

Ironically, the fix is so simple; just arrange by "album by artist" rather than by "artist".

This appears to keep everything in order.
