Protector/SR71B balanced to single ended adapter

Hi,

Does anyone have the wiring schematic to make an adapter for the RSA kobiconn balanced cable into a regular single ended plug?

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Edward

Use the 1/8" jack on the front of the amp.

Tying the out-of-phase connections together is begging for trouble. Thank goodness Ray added output resistors to his amps to make them cable-proof.

You *could* do it correctly with a pair of transformers, but the transformers would need their own little enclosure, and that is yet another thing to carry.

Hi,

Thanks for the help, but what I'm trying to do is simply make a convertor for my whiplash balanced cable from balanced into single ended to use with a nonbalanced amp. I bought a kobiconn female connector. Would you happen to know the pin diagram to wire the kobiconn to a miniplug?

Connection at miniplug goes like this:

T is L+

R is R+

S is L- and R- together

Info about balanced pinout is available at RSA website:

Quote:

Balanced pins are terminated on the amp as follow: Left channel, PIN # 1 is Positive Signal. PIN # 3 is Negative Signal.

Right Channel, PIN # 2 is Positive Signal. PIN # 4 is Negative signal.

Hope this solves your question,
