Sennheiser HD424 headphone amp suggestions

Recently recabled my HD424s and replaced the foam inserts.  Any suggestions on tube or solid state headphone amps?  Thanks!

Hi, I have the same set of HD424 phones - where did you find the replacement foam? Mine are completely disintergrated. Any help would be appreciated. I haven't tried any headphone amps yet, sorry. I do have a friend who does use one with Sennheisers - I get his recommendation for you - he has a critical ear for sound - worth trusting.

I have some and I just ordered the foam from Sennheiser. It was about $11 total for shipping and everything. The number has a -3 at the end, something like HD424-3, I hope they fit.

Same here.  The 424s don't appear in the parts section of Sennheiser's website, so I called and was told that a cable and foam inserts were still available.
