(also this drains a portion less battery power from the iPod). The effect of the LOD will be more pronounced with each new level of amplifier that you use. e.g. with your home set-up if you are using either a dedicated headphone amp, or an integrated amp for your headphones.

This has been my experience both with my mobile set-up, and especially with my home set-up.

I also am looking to get the sendstation , as soon as I find it somewhere that is not going to charge me $16.50 for shipping it simply to Canada.

Agree with what you said, clearly define the meaning of using a LOD with Amp.

Anyone else feel the same way who has used both (esp. with an iPod)?

Never had a chance to try out the Sendstation, but do have experience with connect my amp via the LOD and 3.5mm earphone jack. Different is there, using the LOD, there is a different in term of sound quality, not much of cracking/distortion. But using the same setup by out via a 3.5mm, you will be double amp-ing, thus distortion is greatly audible.

using the 3.5mm will not help to improve the sound quality, but only making it louder.

Haven't got one yet. Figured I would wait until I actually had the new headphones to go with it.
