If I add an amp to the receiver will I hear the improvement?

Hello,
After searching through many hours at headfi.org forum I've come to decided that I want get Valhalla for my newly purchaed Sennheiser HD650.
My setup is;
Computer (thru D-Coax, gaming and movie) + Oppo DV980H (thru HDMI, SACD) -> Onkyo TX-SR805 (Pure SACD DSD passthru, TrueHD, DTSHD, etc) -> B&W 602 Speakers(antique =D )

I've been using a headphone jack from the receiver and some how I feel I'm not getting the result what other reviewers are getting from this set of headphone.  Will I hear the definite improvement through using Valhalla added to my receiver's preamp?  WIll I lose quality much by connecting it my receiver other than the sources directly?  I want to be able to enjoy HD650 from both computer and sacd player without constantly swichting the amp between.  I'm very new to this and in need your final opinion before make my decision.

If you add the Valhalla to your receiver's preamp, all you're doing is amplifying that preamp's sound. For a clean signal, I'd go straight from the source to the Schiit.
