Newbie queries about an AMP and DAC for HD650

anyone recommend an entry level amp/dac combo or separate for the HD650s. I was thinking about buying a Nuforce HDP and then later upgrading to Matrix M-stage paired with a DAC of similar quality. I was originally thinking about getting Schiits soon to be released bifrost but can't find any reviews because it's brand new. Done a lot of reading and these two options are what i've narrowed it down to. The matrix M-stage sounds like great value for money! I saw the Matrix quattro which got me interested but it's not a USB dac??

Anyway, if you could suggest some good DACs to pair up with a M-stage that would be fantastic (using hd650s...).

OK, you may consider me semi retarded for just noticing this...but the mini I seems like it would be a good pair with the matrix m-stage for my hd650s. Would I be wrong in assuming this. And it can connect to my macbook via usb??? (i know it has usb, but is it mac compatible?)

Macbook-->mini-->m-stage-->hd650-->me 

It's only 150 more than the nuforce. I'll wait for some input from you more experienced folk. Cheers.
