Searching for high quality sounding earbud!

Hey!

Like you can read in the title I'm searching for a really good sounding earbud. I want an earbud because I do not like In-Ears for portable use (microphonics, too much isolation, etc.). The earbud has to be:

- Budget: open

- Sound signature: quite neutral, maybe bit v-sharp

I read a lot of old threads about best earbuds and three models seems to be the "top 3": Yuin Pk1, Yuin Ok1 and Sennheiser MX980.

Are there any other models I have to have a look at?

Which of these models fits to my demands best?

Are there technical differences between them? - I'm talking about resolution, speed, precision...

Thank you for all inputs

Cheers,

Alpha-Pinguin

The Sennheiser MX980 are very detailed yet grand sounding with good bass response and very durable. Yuin PK1, OK1 has higher impedance and they need amps help to sound loud(they are very detailed).

Ah, I knew that I forgot something. My source is an iPhone 3GS.

So, if I compare MX980 and the Yuins - directly pluged in my iPhone - the Sennheiser wins.

What about, if I compare all three at a really good source? - Means my iPhone + really good amp.

I'm going to throw out the Creative Aurvana Air as an option even though everybody here on at Head-Fi has pretty much ignored them. If you'd like, you can check out my humble review of them here.
I haven't tried the Yuin PK1 or OK1, nor the Sennheiser MX980, but I can tell you that they sound great straight out of my Sansa Clip+. I've been a long time user of earbuds and I honestly can't say enough good things about them.

Hey, thanks for your input!
I did not know the Creative yet but I read another Review - it gives him a good mark, too.

Can someone compare Pk1 / Ok1 / Aurvana Air with the MX980? All at a really strong Amp.

And I have another question: On what sound level are these earbuds? - IEMs like Shure SE215/ Phonak PFE or higher?

MX880 simply because it's still being sold and the MX980 is its successor.
