I am currently looking for a new music player in the price range of 150$ (give or take 50$) but I really don't know what to get. I've been looking at comparisons and stuff, but I don't feel that there's enough info.
What I'm looking for is:
Capacity: 8GB or over, over would be much preferred as I have quite a bit of music and hate being restricted
'Actual' Battery life: 15+ hr (many players say they have 50, but we all know that's overestimated like hell)
Ability to make playlists
FLAC capability would be preferred but not necessary
Easy to use and reliable - the last player I had was easy to use alright, but just not very reliable, it'd jerk up when removed from charging, it'd have trouble starting unless reset, etc. etc. and just didn't feel smooth
Lock function, obvious reasons
Ability to turn up pretty loud - again, I hate being restricted so if I want my music to kill my ears, it better be able to (not really, but I hope you get the point)
Relatively good sorting system and shuffle function - I couldn't stand the fact that my last player favored songs that had been played many times. It felt like I ended up with the same 50 songs most of the time..
