Got new pair of Shure SRH-840's

Well, after a post of my own and reading many other posts, I decided to get a pair of Shure SRH 840's.  Just received them and began a little buring in for 5 hours.  These are my first pair of cans aside from the iPod buds, but in addition to my home rig of Classe' int. amp, Revel M20 speakers, Cambridge DACMagic DAC and Macbook feeding music (in Apple lossless format).

They really sound nice having listened to them for an hour yesterday being run from my Macbook.  They have a sound that will allow me to listen for a few hours without fatigue.  It is fascinating how different they (or maybe any headphones) sound as compared to a traditional room based audio system.  Not quite the soundstage, and the mids and uppers aren't quite as pronounced.  No problem though.  Branford Marsalis' Treo Jeepy album sounds fantastic (if you're a improvisational jazz fan).

One question though.  My Classe CAP-151 integrated amp doesn't have a headphone out.  Any thoughts on an inexpensive (under $100) amp that I could run some RCA interconnects to from the Classe' so that I could hear my music as run through the DACMagic?  Thanks!

my 840s love HP outs on older stereo receivers.

and you could probably score a smaller marantz or pioneer for under a 100 and they do have a classic look wink_face.gif

My shure srh840 work well with a fiio e7. Try it. You can get it for $90.

currently own the shure 840s as well.  i like them but to be honest, compared to my ath-m50s, they are a bit underwhelming; specifically the bass.  i know they are neutral headphones but i expected the bass to have more punch.

I feel the bass is just fine to me. But then again i hate over powering bass.

The FiiO E7 doesn't look to have RCA Inputs.  If I am trying to connect to my integraged amp, would a FiiO E9 be more appropriate with it's RCA In's and plug in power supply?
