Head-Fi Logoed Silicone Bands

This may have been suggested previously or even already available, but if so I haven't been able to find anything during my searches...

Why doesn't Head-Fi create/offer it's own branded/logoed silicone straps for portable rigs??? This is something I would definitely be interested in purchasing and can only imagine that they would sell like hotcakes, especially given the number of members and visitors this site seems to generate. It may even help promote the site in the process as others notice a portable rigs in public with the Head-Fi logo.

Any thoughts?

You could always go on ebay, get some custom made for 50c a piece and sell them on Head-Fi under member of the trade with Head-Fi logo'd onto them.

I'd wind up getting sued by Head-Fi for using thier logo without permission.  Especially once they realize what great demand there is for a (well made) custom strap that actually promotes the website and the lifestyle/hobby...

No, Head-Fi wouldn't sue you (IMO). Become a MOT and talking to Jude (owner and founder, very nice guy and will talk to you about it) will be fine with it. It doesnt matter if it promotes the site or not, ive sold these bands for $5 a piece without it saying Head-Fi or anything so...

I also put my original post in the "Feedback" forum in hopes that it might trigger a response from Jude.  I'm hoping his response will be that he is already working on bands for his loyal members:)

Please don't do that.

Head-Fi owns the intellectual property for all logos and related materials.

You would need to enter into a licensing agreement in order to use that IP.

You are, of course, free to design your own headphone logo and make silicon bands with it. And we'd also be happy to make you a MOT so you can sell them.

Thanks for both mine and the OP's understanding.

Several Years ago I approched Jude with the Idea that I'd make and sell Head-Fi logo bands with a profit for Head-Fi and me. Jude nixed the Idea saying there were plans to sell the bands in the Haed-Fi merchandise store. So far that hasn't happened, maybe he'd be more receptive to the Idea now.

As a small business owner I am always looking at how other businesses market and take advantage of their niche!  I just thought this would be an interesting idea for someone at Head-Fi to pursue ...especially since it seems to be a missed opportunity to promote the "brand" as well as to generate a good margin while fulfilling a need within the portable rig community.

The logos they use are kinda ewe.

Without the the words underneath they would look better.  And non-white everything would make it look less cheap, kinda like the logo at the top.  The style just looks way too old.
