Sorry about that Izzy....
I don't really have any experience with the Hifiman, nor any real world info to share on portable setup advice. I'm sure others can chime in and help you out there.

cAsE sEnSiTiVe, I was talking about the balanced amp section available for the Hifiman HM-801 player, if you read the rest of the thread, it's been pretty clear, I made sure the entire setup was balanced through and through, I'm now asking about portable use. I don't mind using a 1/8" jack but it would save me having to bring an adapter, and might provide a bit of a quality boost. Of course, the battery would probably take a hit from it, so I need to know if it's even going to be worth it sonically, first off. And since it's out of my price range, if I really REALLY wanted to, I could save for both an HM-801/balanced section and a recabling that fit the output of the balanced section. I'd prefer not to do that, keep this in mind, I'd rather save the cost of the cable and balanced section towards a V-200, since everyone's recommending that, but it might be a fun little experiment. And at this rate I'd need to invest in a rack to keep all this equipment ventilated.
