RockBox For HiFiman HM601 and for HM801 - Page 3

Okay, quick question. Can I use the 601 firmware for the 602 and do I need to rename it to HM-602.IMG?

Okay that's two questions I guess.

I'm not to sure about that. I'd play it safe and only use the HM-602 firmware with the HM-602.

Too late! I did just that and it seems to have worked.

Very cool. Thanks to everybody who has worked on making this work and making this accessible.

I can only see files listed for 601 and 801 so I went with 601.

Awesome, I'll change up my tutorial a bit.

*Interest in Hifiman players restored*

Any idea of a timescale for a complete working build? Probably a bit of a cheeky question given they stated 'we now have sound' at the end of October. I like the idea of having a viable high end alternative to an iPod > CLAS > amp rig. (At least in terms of a popular UI).

I just installed the Rockbox V2 on my HM-601, it works well.

I need some helps:

1. How to adjust the size of the font to be bigger ?

2. How to display Chinese Characters on the player?

Thanks in advice for your reply.

has anyone tried running 24 bit/88.2 khz flacs on a rockboxed hm801? any improvement over the stock firmware (which only plays like 1 in 20) ?

Anyone know if SDXC cards will work with the Rockboxed 801?

I think the HM-801 is hardware limited to SDHC cards

Depends which version of SDXC.  The newer one w/ the extra pin is a no-go.  The older should be able to be used w/ the appropriate FW.

It's working for my HM-601. I think it should work for 801 too.

  1. Run RK27Upgrade_Image (http://www.forum.mycroft.su/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=1906) with administrator rights.
  2. Turn on player and connect it via USB
  3. In rockbox menu go to: System -> Debug(don't touch!) -> View HW info.
  4. Install drivers from archive http://www.forum.mycroft.su/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=1906.
  5. In RK27Upgrade_Image programm, click to "..." button opposite "Image??" and choose firmware
  6. Click "?? (U)" and wait.

This works for RB V2. I had earlier release and this did not worked. So I bridged the pins on Samsung chip.
