Best sound quality low end android phone?

I want to buy a cheap (<US$300) android phone for pocket wifi and whatsapp.

But I want it to have at least similar sound quality as my Nokia N82.

Do you have any recommendations?? Thanks a lot!

Samsung Capitivate has amazing soundquality but need Power HP AMPs and Voodoo Control apps to download.

Thanks for your reply. Does Capitivate have Wolfson DAC???

I heard that Galaxy S I9000 has Wolfson DAC. If I buy it used, it fits my budget.

Oops. Look like Captivate and Galaxy S I9000 are the same thing...wink.gif

Nexus S? I know it supports the Voodoo kernel audio mods and Voodoo Control: https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.controlapp&hl=en

Note, you need to be comfortable flashing custom kernels to take advantage of this.

Yeah, pretty much any Galaxy S phone. They all use the Wolfson DAC, and can be rooted to install the VooDoo sound mod.

I've been using my SGS as a dedicated PMP ever since I got the SGSII.

SGS with the Voodoo mod, I'd say is pretty good.  It replaced my rather dated D2.  wink.gif
