How to take advantage of SR-71B's balance output?

Thread Starter

For my portable rig, I'm currently using the CLAS + SR-71B combo and they sound amazing. I re-cabled my Westone ES5 with SR-71B balanced connector to take advantage of the balance mode. I would like to further test the balance output with my full-size cans like LCD-2 and D2000, however I don't want to re-cable them with SR-71B balanced connector.

Here is my question: is getting an adapter (1/4'' female --> SR-71B connector male) will let me utilize SR-71B's balanced output?

Thanks.

simple answer....No. you have no choice but to either re-terminate or recable them to gain balanced connection

You can reterminate with something like an inline mini-xlr that will let you switch back and forth between balanced and single ended with adapters.
