wiring a latched amplifier footswitch

Hey all, new to the forum as i saw some similar posts, so thought i would join and ask my question :)
I have a friend with a Yamaha T-100 Amp and recently asked me to try and solder up his footswitch

The Yamaha manual says you can use any type of latched footswitch. It looks like this one was wired at one point, so just tried connecting the existing wires and no luck. Any thoughts?
thanks a ton ahead of time for any suggestions!

Forget about the LED and just wire up the tip and sleeve to one pole/throw of the switch.

Does the footswitch for that amp only switch Drive channel on/off or does it do reverb/effects also? in which case you would need to use a 2nd footswitch wired up to the sleeve & ring of the socket if you wanted to switch effects.

thanks alot, will give that a go tomorrow. It only changes channels, so should be all good there. was tempted to just get new simpler switches (with only 2 poles) but will try this first.
Really appreciate your reply
Thanks!
