So, am i Listening to Hi Fidelity Yet?

Hey guys

Just wanted to know,

i am listening to my Sansa Fuze RB'xd > Wima 1uF Caps LOD> Mini^3 > RE0s.

and when i want to keep it very portable, it is Sansa Fuze> RE ZEROs.

the source files are 320kbps to FLAC ones.

and, as another Head fier had asked in the past, "Am i listening to Hi Fi yet"?

Regards

You're listening to treble biggrin.gif

The RE0 (or is it the RE-ZERO?) is very detailed for the price. It depends on what you mean by "hi fi". You haven't spent a lot, if you're talking about ridiculous price tags. You've got some pretty good IEMs, if you're talking about sound quality. You may have a ways to go, if you're talking neutrality, but that depends on what you think is neutral.

The RE0 are very detailed IEMs and may need to upgrade the DAPs like S:Flo2, X1060, HM-602 and IMod iPod.

Yes, no doubt about it in my mind - RE0 is a hi-fi IEM, especially amped. I think does have more potential to improve with better sources than what you have now though.

I strongly disagree with this. I think RE0 also has fantastic bass and midrange. I think it does those parts of the frequency spectrum just as well, if not better than the treble.

The Sansa Fuze isn't exactly hi fi.

@ZARIM

Was going to ask in another post, but, "IMOD" isnt it essentially changing the Output caps on an ipod? and for a Fuze that can be totally done by making an LOD for the Fuze minus that much effort. I mean for an ipod, open it up, desolder, solder the caps, place the caps in place, and put the ipod back together. for the Fuze, get a Dock, add the caps u want, use an amp, and go. How exactly would an IMOD differ from the Fuze if not in terms of the DAC? is the DAC more capable in the iPod than on the Fuze? What essentially is better in a Mini^3 driven iMod then a Mini^3 driven Fuze?

@Pianist, I also have been a long time lover of the RE0 bass. It tastes so good, and the best part is, the RE0 delivers top notch bass, awesome quality, if one has a detailed Bass Boost amp, its like, u ask for it, u get it.

@Head Injury

I read that the Fuze had a flat FR curve (even with Low impedance IEMs).The RE0s too (and ya, the RE0s and the RE-ZEROs are pretty different) had a balanced, analytical sound signature, thus i brought together the Fuze and the RE0s. Flat FR of the source and Balanced or rather detailed and analytical, sounded to me like the setup would end up as balanced and neutral. Is it that way?

But the S:flo2 has crappy UI right? the Sony can be considered, but the absence of an SD card expansion is a turn off + rockbox isnt present for these. HM 602, would that be good?

Plus, is it that the iPods can be, or sound better than the Fuze or the Clip? Large Storage, Rockbox, nice UI, lures me into it if thats better than my Current setup.
