Hi Head-Fi,
It seems like this question has been asked very many times, and i have spent a good amount of time reading through these other threads and have come to a conclusion and hopefully people can help me.
Firstly i'm from melbourne and am wondering if anyone know anywhere i could possibly listen to the difference an amp will make to my sennheisers?.
Secondly i have found three units which i think may suit me:
Yulong D100 DAC/amp
Burson HA-160D (This around 500 above my price range)
Burson HA-160DS (Much closer to price range)
I have read that the Yulong is a very balanced reference class amp which will not add any type of 'character' to the music, it will only replicate it perfectly. The burson is quoted as a perfect match for the hd 650's and so i am unsure whether to choose the more even and balanced amp, or the amp which fits very well with my headphones. Also is the 300 dollars extra worth it from the DS to the D? My music genre's consist of mainly hip-hop and electronic music with a bit of rock and jazz thrown in and i currently drive my headphones off my macbook pro, which actually is doing a fairly good job!
What do you guys think? Which amp would you say fits the hd 650's/ fits my music listening most? New suggestions are also fine, note my price range is under around 700 AUD.
Cheers,
James
