Cable for first DIY ic, lod, and recable srh440

Thread Starter

I am going to be doing the DIYmod to my ipod photo and making an 02 amp so I will need a lod as well as an IC for connecting with other devices.

I am also going to recable my srh440 because the coiled cable is quite heavy and annoying.

My question is what cable should I choose? I have been looking at canare starquad as well as mogami and SPC from navships and am not sure what I should pick for sq as well as flexibility and durability.

Also were can I purchase a plug for the hedphone end of my srh440 cable?

Markertek is a pretty good resource for plug ends - and even some cables, bits and bobs.

I've just ordered some of the Mogami 2893 to do recables for my 702, and Grado 225 (mod to single end entry as well). My understanding is that the Mogami and Canare are really pretty equivalent.

You can also pick up some silicone test lead wire, and braid your own wire... this will also be a flexible wire, and you can beef it up and protect it pretty well with any number of sheathing options.
