Vic Chesnutt "coward"

Talk about a harrowing piece of music. It's rare that such pain is captured with such eloquence.

It's the opener on his last (very good) album. I had not listened to it recently until I came across this live clip today.

Anyone interested should check out more of music. "North Star Deserter" is a favorite. A true talent that left too soon.

Thanks for the recommendation - I will check this one out.

I was introduced to Vic through his collaboration with Elf Power. I haven't gotten into his other work yet, but this seems like a good place to start.

Another good album is "little" made early on. Much lighter and more gentle with some humor.

I could kick myself for not seeing him live about 6 years ago when I had a chance.

Very talented guy

I really like At the Cut and North Star Deserter. But those are the only two albums he made with A Silver Mt. Zion as back-up band, right? I'm looking to start with his earlier albums, what is the best one?

"Drunk" (1993)   Vic Chesnutt's 3rd release is one album that I always return to when I'm in the mood to listen to him and that I also believe contains some of his his best work.
