Schitt Lyr question

Thread Starter

I've just recently purchased a Lyr and never owned any amps with tubes. The one I ordered came with the NOS tubes and I was wondering if there's any kind of burn in time with them. Anyone know if these improve with burn in time or what?

Yep, all tubes 'burn-in'. The amount of time for them to settle varies depending on the tube/vintage - but my experience is around 100 hours is more than enough for most tubes. I would say though, that the degree of sonic change when burn in is achieved is minimal. If the current sound signature of Lyr with the stock tubes is close to what you'd like, it may get there (depending on what you want, the tube, etc.). If it's not close - it's time to go rolling. Check out the Lyr tube rolling thread (if you haven't yet). Myself and quite a few others have rolled through a bunch of tubes. The thread can be a great help is finding the right tube for your preferences.
