Hi, im about to get the q 701 in the mail i was wondering if anyone can give me a definite answer on whether need a separate amplifier along with my cd player, (I have a Teac CD- P650) and if so does it really matter if its a solid state, hybrid or tube? Also it would be much appreciated if anyone bought any products from www.on9mart.com and if their service and products are trustworthy. I only found three reviews on the web, 2 bad, one good. One guy said the electronics inside his amp were all smashed which makes me hesitant, although their prices are much lower than other sellers. Thanx

Best closed headphones I had heard - very flat response, almost no midrange distortion, very easy to drive (good for portable), good soundstage (definately better than K240), good isolation, but...

Overall excellent buds, very good sound quality, especially for their price, the medium set of tips fits exactly in my ears and provides a near perfect seal. Bass is very detailed, but not...

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

Amp for Q 701? and on9mart.com?
The Teac CD- P650 has a headphone amp inside of it be it a good one or not is going to up to your ears. You will not need another amp unless you find flaws in the type-D amp inside the Teac. I have a Teac and find the headphone amp adequate, but I use my m903 as a reference as it is a much better amp to my ears. Most of the time it comes down the to DAC as far as making the music sound its best and the amp then just needs to give clean power through a low impedance output to be its best.
The Q701s do take a while to burn in so be prepared for the sound to improve with time. Typically this is heard listening to violins or trumpets. The harshness will fade as the diaphragms relax.
I have no experience with the vendor you listed, but I wish you the best of luck in that regard.
Did i make a good choice for classical music with the Q 701? (I didnt get it in the mail yet)
Yes, the Q701 is up front sounding enough to bring out the sparkle in most classical music. They also have a great mid range and slightly boosted bass which compliments classical well. I enjoyed them while I had them and I think you will be pleased in your choice.
