A mp3 player that is good without eq?

Im wondering is there any player out there, that sounds great without eq? Im upgrading from a 2nd gen itouch and im looking for a replacement that would sound great without eq as the producers of the musics i listen to says that it would be best to listen to their music without eq. Anyone has a recommendation? thanks!

What are you syncing with? and where are you in the world?  Different Sony players are available in only certain regions of the world.

Both of my kids have the E-3xx series players and both sync fine with Windows Media Player.

No matter what people here say about the newer Zen's,they're still good players. Though they have colored sound, compared to the ipod 5g classic, they completely pummel any classic to a pulp in SQ.

Their fantastic EQ is there if you like to tweak the sounds, it serves to provide more flexibilty, but it doesnt mean without it, the cowon wouldn't sound good

^he's right all players sound pretty good these days some transparent flat FR like the classic and some colored like Sony and Zen and some cold and detailed like Samsung,it depends on implementation of codec to the DAC,as for example, the fuze+ sound diff frm the Zen,yet they both use a Sigamatel DAC. I recommend something that has at least, iOS or Android so that you can add equaliser apps like PowerAmp and eQu just in case smily_headphones1.gif and also to play with any other apps you'd fancy, like a Cowon D3, iPTouch4g,Samsung Galaxy Player (waay overpriced IMO) or the Zen Touch 2(resistive screen is just bad,bt not if u use ur nail though)...and get a toslink quartz digital out for your Mac with a DAC and speakers good enuff to decode analogue frm your Mac, as RCA cable buzz when connecting, myt blow your prized speakers and toslink is just vastly superior o yea:) Gud luck.

wow really? i had the impressions that cowon dont sound that good without their eq coz i saw some forumers commenting that it doesnt sound lively without the eq but is it worse than ipod touch 2g? if its better or around the same then i wont mind changing to a cowon. Anyone has compared the 2 before? without the eq.
