Sony MDR-V6 Cord issue

The V6, being headphones designed for professional use, are extremely easy to disassemble. All you need is a screwdriver. WHy don't you disassemble them and see if the cable is visibly damaged anywhere. You can also simply recable them at this point. If you are not comfortable soldering cables together, you could perhaps ask a friend? The V6 are extremely easy to recable.

Mine do the same thing with my iPod touch, and I just assumed it had something to do with the plug shape, because I rarely use them and so they are very unlikely to be damaged or broken.

I seem to be having a similar problem. Purchased mine from Amazon and received them about a week ago. Trying to decide if I should return/exchange them. When the end of the cable or connector is moved or touched, sound distorts, gets fuzzy and goes in and out. I also noticed the heat shrink tub that goes around the cable (and underneath connector) at the end is open, doesn't seem to be put on properly. Does anyone else have this problem?

If they are new. I'd return them.
