The craze goes on...Can't stop it!

I've very quickly gotten to the point where i currently own a balanced portable amp for no apparent reason. None of my headphones benefit from it, in a audible manner, but even so i can't get myself to rid of the amp even though i could put the money to better use getting a SE amp and some other stuff.

Anyone else reached this point where they have gear that they no makes no actual difference to their setup other than in their mind? :S

I was doing this with my Sony EX1000s. I was trying to justify in my mind to keep
them although I'm having issues with the sound signature. I wanted to hear it as other headfiers have and yet I couldn't. I eventually sold them and aquired the FX700s.

I'm having a seriously hard time. I'm sort of a mind over matter person, my mind is so "powerful" that i can't be hypnotized, i can slow down my pulse by thinking of it, and other things like that. So when my mind decides to screw me, it does it pretty freaking bigtime no matter how much i fight...

Not that I have any complaints about the iBasso PB2 and DB2. Its just that when instead i could have the SE version (The D6 amp) + a Beyerdynamic DT1350 then, well...It kinda make my brain twitch...Been bugging me for weeks now -.-'

I've been generally lucky with my audio purchases thanks to reviews from headfi. But my recent purchase of the EX1000 was a big letdown. Pretty much it tells me I am not a fan of neutral sounding cans or treble spike monsters.
