Using French Silk on HE-500 and Beyer DT-880 600 ohm. The French Silk is copper but the secret to the performance in my opinion is that each strand is covered in Teflon I have interconnect from Morrow Audio which use the same technology and have  SQ and imaging is superior to cables with copper or silver.

Do you guys think the aluminum gimbals are worth their asking price? I kind of like them but the price is a let down...

I think I'm bored enough of the Beyer T5p's that I already contacted Martin with some questions in order to mod these... Not sure why but last week I was wondering how a cup change would modify Beyers sound signature (IF any...) Based on what I saw from some Beyer mods he has made, I think the T5p's would at least not look as boring as they do now... ;-)

Anyone with modded Beyers here?

Do it buddy!

I had a pair of extra deep cup DT770's, bass was unreal and looked great. Martin is an artist and a good guy. You've seen his handiwork on my D2000's, right?

You could have the first Martin Custon T5!

I had a DT880 with coco cups. They sounded amazing, but too boring of a sound for me. They went from boring to uber boring.

Nice!

I still don't know which woods he has available but definitely don't want them the same as my D5000. ;)

Thanks.

He doesn't have mahogany (which is what the D5000 is).  Go to his website and check it out.  My D2000's are cocobolo rosewood and the D5000's I traded off were Bolivian Rosewood.  He has some great choices and really finishes them nicely.

My D5000 are Lawton-modded. It has redwood burl cups among all the stuff that they do. ;-)

Yeah I've seen some of his pics, but I don't know what he has available at the moment (it seems most pics are like a year old? Not sure...)

I will let you know when I get mine. I ordered a set with the black and white ebony cups that Marty is making for me. They seem very well built from his photos.

Here is an awesome set that Marty just finished for me! The B&W ebony is beautiful in person. The aluminum gimbals and rod blocks are very well built and only take a second to assemble. Much better than the stock gimbals in looks and quality. I will definitely be a returning customer in the future!
