New 325is and new finish!

I just purchased a new set of Grado 325is can's for my wife (I already have a set for myself) from Crutchfield. They have dumped the "new" silver chrome look and have gone to a powder coat type finish. I like the new finish much better than the pair I bought for myself last year that had the chrome type finish......And they sound awesome to boot! They look like the newer ps500's.

Seems like they've been playing around with the finish quite a bit.

Looks great!

It's definitely a lot nicer than the chrome. I'm a bit partial to the gold ones from the past though. wink.gif

Yea....I agree. Now I have to find a way for my wife to take my old 325's so I can keep these for myself. I think Grado took heed and listened to the complaints about the "old new finish" .

I agree the new finish looks better... did you say they sound better in comparison to your older ones?

I have them burning in on my computer system...V-Link + V-DAC + V-CAN>>Pangea power supply. Pangea USB cable from PC to V-Link, Audioquest optical cable from V-Link to V-DAC and Chord crimson red RCA to V-CAN.

I would say these seem to be a little tamer in the treble department out of the box....I will give it a few days before I do an A/B comparison....So far I am loving them.

And im sure they get better after every hour of use, nice looking. cool.gif

Matte metallic times all round for every model it seems at Grado!~

Hey that looks exactly like my Alessandro MS2 that I bought 2 months ago. I would describe the colour as powder grey, but with sparkling metallic specks. And the texture isn't matte, it's actually glossy.

So this is 5th color of the SR325: black, silver, gold, silver again, chrome, and powder grey.

They never forget, Mozu. They just choose to wait until its more useful to bring it up...

The new finish looks good. Almost makes me want to upgrade the 225's.

I miss the old gold cups. I wish Grado would do a throwback series of SR-325is with the bling turned back on smily_headphones1.gif
