Need help with 2.1 system homemade build!

Hello everyone!

 

Plain and simple i've been brought here becuase my logitech z2300 finally blew out on me so i figured i would take the custom build route. It seems that you get more bang for your buck and everything just sounds nicer with a custom build.

 

So far i've come up with these two products.

I need to know where to find an amp that will be sufficient enough to handle these.

EDIT:

 

If anyone has a better combination that would be fine. I'm looking to spend around $300-350 (amp, speakers, sub etc.). I'm throwing a party in three weeks and would like something that is extremely bumpin but with also clear sound.

Great choice of speakers, but if you are willing to push the price up a bit, you can get the Monitor40s for only $40 more:

For the sub I would go with a Dayton sub instead:

Now for an amp.  I would recommend this T-Amp.  It should be powerful enough to run both the speakers and the sub.

You can always add a DAC later on down the road, but for now, this should last you for a while...(until you get upgrade fever).

The subwoofer that i orginally chose looks like it has more watts to it then the one you linked me too. Will i notice a huge difference? Or does it just sound better?

 

Other than that everything looks sexy. I cannot wait three weeks for this party!

M30IIs typically go on sale on Egg anywhere from $85-99 (or hit eBay/Amazon) so if you could spend more hit the M40IIs or Infinity Primus P162 from Crutchfield

The dayton subs are loud because they have very efficient drivers, the 10" is 94db 1watt@1metre with 100 or so watts it's output is in the 110db range at 1metre which is enough for house party, if that's not enough then I suggest the behringer b1800x pro.

 

The speakers suggested are to weedy for a party, the Infinity Primus P162 should hold up well, but most bookshelfs will break-up and sound like there shouting at high volumes, you need floor standers really, the behringer b2031p is the only bookshelf I know of that would be ok as a party speaker it does not break up at high volumes, and you can get over 110db out of it at 1 metre with a powerful enough amp but it will take you over budget.

Hello again! The subwoofer, amp, and wires arrived today still waiting on the speakers from new egg. However, I do have some semi good/crappy bookshelf speakers that i have hooked up right now just to see how the subwoofer sounds but i'm getting so sound out of the woofer. The green light turns on, i messed with the gain, frequency knobs etc nothing. How I have it set up... Both bookshelf speakers are hooked up correctly into the amp and sound comes out both of them. I have the red and white RCA cable going from out of woofer in to the amp. Still nothing out of the sub. 

 

However there is a disclaimer in the AMP manual that says RCA line in gets disconncted when plugging aux into the front jack. Any suggestions?

I think you have it connected up wrongly, you want to send the signal from your source straight into the sub, then out to the amp from the subs out.

That did the trick. I had the gain and frequency up at half, amp at 75%. Plugged in my phone with a song already playing. I would be lieing if i said my insides didn't shake haha. Thank you guys for everything this forum has been very helpful! I'll return back when the speakers arrive.

What speakers are you getting, if you go with the Infinity Primus P162 you want to cross over the sub about 60-70hz.
