The E7 is a portable amp/dac, it is about the same size as a iPhone.

It's not really about how you look, but more about how it will work out (pun unintended). Seriously, when I tried using full-sized while working out, it was a pain. Not worth it. IEMs were designed for these situations.If you have a pair of full-sized headphones, even if broken, try using those a full day at the gym. If that works out, follow the recommendations given here, if not maybe look into IEMs.

The FX700 IEMs would beat the denons in my opinion and are much more portable. Then again they are more expensive. But you could probably get a used pair for what you would pay for a new denon and they are better in my opinion than my Denon 5000s . Even with the mod I did to my denons I still prefer the FX700s, heck even my silver cabled IE8s are still more to my liking than my denons. I see the for sale sign going up soon for excellent condition Denon 5000s :).
