The Audio-Technica Website in Japan shows that they are releasing the ATH-PRO500MK2 in red and black. The ATH-PRO500MK2 is a headphone primarily for DJ's, bassheads, and people who want a more portable headphone.

The price seems to be around $100 or 9,980 Yen according to Amazon Japan

The question is whether they are going to release it in the US or Europe (whatever country you live in).

DAT BASS.

What's the signature of the of the PRO500's suppose to be like? They look like smaller cans.

Has anyone tried the Pro500MK2's yet?  Any news of if there's going to be a US release?  Seems like the 500s might be more "balanced."

According to Amazon Japan, 2 people liked the sound quality while the other said that the sound quality was muddy (keep in mind that there were only 3 reviews for the red and black combined). Some complained that the clamping is a little tight but thats expected from a DJ headphone.

Im listening to the ath-pro500mk2 now. They are suprisingly balanced for DJ headphones, especially Audio Technica. The sound is crisp and sharp, and the bass is quite tight. For a bass lover, the pro700's have a much more powerful sound.

So, is it it worth its money?? Does it compare with the m50 or v-moda m80?
