Thanks for the link and tip!!  Does JRMC have 64fp too?  I'm currently deciding between it and ULilith.  Edit: just checked and it does.

Incidentally, in addition to less strain on the electronics, I have found that when you leave the unit on for a day or two, SQ improves.  It seems to flow more easily and become more immediate (subtle yet still audible).  I've experienced exactly the same phenomenon with other CD players and DACs I've owned. Whether or not this is worth the extra energy consumption is another matter though .

I dunno anyone w/ a Mac and its OS doesn't have any equivalent to Reclock, ffdshow and Avisynth so I'm not going through the trouble of putting a hackintosh together either 

I never turn off any of my audio gear coz I can't be hassled to wait for the whole thing to warm up and it's been proven that the power on/off cycles will actually lower the MTBF of any electric equipment.

Thanks, man.  I'm going to check out the Morricone.  Sly and Robbie Dub Rockers Delight Lacksley Castell Dubs is the one I think you mean .   His first LP was made with Hugh Mundell

I don't think anybody does and they are not stated by April Music.  Why don't you run them a quick email?

HE-500's are usually pretty loud around 11 o'clock.  I'd hazard a guess that they output a good 2 watts at their 46 ohms- but that's a complete guess.

Hey leeperry, what's that "PoUSB" device? I can't find anything via Google. I'm assuming it's another ADuM4160-based isolator - if so, why that one instead of the Olimex?

The Olimex has a SMPS voltage regulator on its external PSU input so feeding a clean PSU is pointless, OTOH the PoUSB provides a vanilla unregulated input(that will be used to feed both the device side of 4160 and the device itself)

Well, I very much fancy the idea of putting the DP-1 I2S input to good use, it's there...gotta use it! Only if isolated, though.

ADuM4160 itself doesn't require drivers, and both TE7022L and TE8802L do work perfectly up to 24/96 in UAC1 12 Mbit/s USB mode. The only diff is that the latter also supports 88.2kHz and can go async/UAC2 when installing custom drivers.

April Eximus DP1 is really nice combo. I've just upgrade my phones from Grado 225 to ATH W10VTG.

Has anybody compared this to the Nad M51 yet? I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two for my totl dac. Just looking for sonic impressions on the dac side of things-the DP1 amp section won't affect my purchase decision. Thanks.

Not heard the M51 but as far as the DP1 DAC is concerned, there isn't too much to say that hasn't already been said. It's a very detailed, neutral DAC with a hint of warmth.  Having owned it for a few months, I'm listening and buying more music than ever...

I would say the Nad is similar but without the hint of warmth. But not cool or analytical sounding. Very musical.
