Hello, I know this is an overly asked question, but i am having trouble figuring out which headphones to buy, so I came here for help. I listen to mainly rock music, some hip-hop, and some alternative. I really like the look of the Bowers&Wilkins P5 and would get them, but they are expensive. Is there anything like them in the $200 range? If not, I would be OK looking at different designs. I would like them to look nice, have great sound, and be comfortable. Thanks!

Quote:Open is always a lot better unless you value bass quantity over everything else.
But the inconvenience of walking around with sound leaking out of your ears
all over the place is enough to put most people off.
Beyer Dynamic DT1350 if you can stretch it. It is closed.

oh i asked it because I was thinking of maybe a Denon, but if that is the case, have you considered ultrasone? Or put it this way, do you like bass?
Otherwise what's been suggested is pretty much the 10/10 answer. Senn hd25, DT1350, or V-Moda M80...
Just trying to limit your research here. I've only listened to the Denon D2000 - epic bass w/ very impressive soundstage; ultrasone DJ1 (or the HFI580) - epic bass (really impressive given its price); or the Grado/Alessandro line up for rock but maybe not hiphop.

which is your favorite out of all those as a good all around headphone with good looks?
post #12 of 1610/16/11 at 6:24amThe Beyer DT1350's are said to be one of the best portable close headphones even beating the venerable Senn HD25 by a close margin. Words by Tyll Hertsens.
Should fit your budget more or less and your needs.

Pick by looks out of those 3 if you do have ~200 to spend if you care about aesthetics as well, can't really go wrong with any one of them. Maybe do some research on them too? There's the 90 portable headphones shootout and plenty other comparisons between the senn and the beyer.
Another possible option is the AIAIAI TMA-1
