Re: Power Conditioners. Sales guy tried to push $100 power bar when I bought a flat-panel. I said I already had one.

 

I looked inside a few of my broken CD players and such.  Even the cheap, generic audio boxes have power conditioners in the form of coils and ceramic caps to filter power line crap.  So I am thinking, if the designers of low-cost audio can do it, surely the audiophile wizards can get it right.

Pretty much, you won't see anything out of a power strip.  You may see an improvement if you use a variac or an isolation transformer, but your amps power section must be really bad or have a lot of electrical issues in your area.  At least they do something beyond the minor steps you'll see in an everyday high-markup surge protector.
