Ultimate Ears 700 New Cabling!

So I sent my Ultimate Ears 700 to be replaced as I had broken my cable and to my surprise UE had redesigned the cabling on the new IEMs (My replacement was brand new and sealed in retail packaging)! The cabling is much better and greatly reduces one of the issues that I had with the UE700 which was the bad Microphonics. It is also feels softer and more resistant to wear and tear.

 

I just wanted to mention this to anyone who had overlooked the UE 700 as I feel they're looked over quite a lot as they don't have the same amount of fan fair as other IEM here on the forums.

How recent is this? I just sent mine in recently for RMA, waiting for them to call me up so I can collect a new unit...

Interesting.  Care to share with some pics.  I agree that the UE700 is underrated here.

 

Update: I just took a peek at Logitech and the picture of the UE700 appears to have a slighter thicker cable, but the biggest difference is the straight plug versus the old angled, which IMO is the weakest point.  However, I think most places are still selling the previous version.

The old cables had a more shinny finish and felt plasticky while the new ones have matte finish and feel more rubbery.
