New ALO balance amp-MKIII at RMAF - Page 8

Are we there yet......  :-)

Do we have an update to ETA as yet Ken?

Thanks

Yeah Ken, can you please advise when we can place orders for this much anticipated amp?  It must feel great to see all the excitement building here.  I hope you can post a reply here soon as I do not have much luck with replies from emailing you guys directly.  This is likely due to your busy schedule.

Please let us all know.  Thanks Ken.

Is that the Mk3 I spy in the vid?

Yes I believe they are. But what surprised me is the knobs are still big. I thought ALO was gonna redesign smaller knobs.

Yep that surprised me too.. I think he posted somewhere in this thread he was putting on smaller knobs.. Im going to be real careful writing anymore using the words "knob" and "long" or "big" or "too big" redface.gif

Knobs notwithstanding, I reckon that KB will coincide the Rx Mk III release with the ALO spring catalogue on the 28th February.

What about the prototype tube amp that Caleb's listening to in the video - looks like a behemoth!

I agree that the 28th could be a happy day around here. Not sure why they put the old rx3's in the video. Good to at least think that it is getting closer.

Hi Ken,

Is the amplifier input on the opposite side of the knobs?

Does anyone try the MK3 in before? How it compares to SR 71-B?

I am keen to buy either one of them..

Sorry to my wallet again!

I think there were comments from some people that attended the rocky mountain canjam. I remember the comments being very positive in direct comparison to the 71b. No one has heard the rx3 in the current form as Ken was making some changes over the past two months from what I have read.

It should be a good challenger at least and also have a bass boost control.

But from what i saw and read from Head-Fi 2011 promotion catalogue. Jude mentioned that he used it before.

I dropped him a pm but still yet in replying.

Jude had a prototype amp, and it didn't very well reflect the final product, either.

Not sure about tose knobs

They look like pencils hanging out of it blink.gif

Cause i think my local retailer would have promotion on Ray Samuels SR 71-B, starting from March. If the performance between two of them were not much different. I would go for Ray Samuels..

Darned!

Sorry to my Wallet AGAIN!

I've not used a production-spec one yet, YoengJyh, but, when I do, I'll let you know.

Check the 2011 Tokyo Headphone Festival thread, as I think there may have been an impression or two of a prototype that ALO brought to the show.
