Hi there. I've lurked around here a bit, and tend to search the forums whenever I want to research some headphones or whatever... I'm a noob with the whole sound quality thing, let's just say that my Koss KSC75's are the best headphones I've ever heard (got those based on recommendations I read here... so thanks)... I have not really heard anything better than that, so pardon my ignorance :)
I've currently got an old Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, and am going to upgrade my motherboard soon, so it's entirely likely I won't have a PCI slot... so I've been looking at other sound cards. Also, I'm in South Africa, so pretty much the only sound cards available (or at least easy to find) are ASUS ones.
I do play games, but I'm much more interested in music quality than I am in EAX and whatever. I also record some guitar occasionally and will be doing more of that when I learn to play it better :) ... so recording ability is also a plus.
So my main question is basically...
Xonar Essence STX or Xonar Xense? Are the Sennheiser headphones that come with the Xense noticeably better than Koss KSC75's? (I've read a number of people saying they're not really good... but haven't come across anyone making a direct comparison)... and is the sound quality of the Xense really much better than the Essence? Or should I go with the Essence and then spend the extra moneys on better headphones? ... Will I even notice a difference at all with my current headphones? :P
Okay, so that turned into a bunch of questions...
