ultimate ears vs klipsch

i have a klipsch s2 and borrowing a friends backbeat titanium(metrofi200 i think) while they both sound good, you can tell the ue (well altec lansing i doubt they changed build tho) are higher quality. they isolate my drums much better with a dual flange tip, and the sound has a lot more clairty to it than the klipsch.

are the s3s a big step up from the s2, becuase the only thing i love about the klipsch is the look and comfort, and would be extremly happy if the s3 had the same sound quality as the backbeat ultimate ears. only then will i consider a s3. dont get me wrong, they are amazing for what i paid, but 50$retail is less than the backbeats 80$retail and it does show. the backbeat titanium just sounds like it has more layers of sound to it than the klipsch s2, and im wondering if they would sound as good as the titaniums after break in, as ive only had them for a week, but i dont think break in really changes sound to that extent

do the s3 isolate and sound much better than the s2s?(and i dont know how much better s2 isolation will be with dual flange, i doubt as high as backbeats)

one problem is for some reason on the superfi4 there is no port, but on the backbeat pro, same headphone they put a port on the back. im drumming with these so wont this KILL the claimed -26 that the ue verison has? also does it sound better than the metrofi200(backbeat titanium)? i also listened to a friends pair of backbeat pros(superfi4) they didnt have the in your faceness of the backbeat titanium (metrofi200)'s low end. the bottem end is just right in my opinion. the clairty on both was comparable, but of coure the armature was a little better. i dont want to be void of that in your face low end! arent the pros supposed to sound better?? im willing to get the pros over the titaniums for 10$ extra, but is it even worth it?

so should i just buy a backbeat titanium(metrofi200)$30, bacbeat pro(superfi4)$40 or klipsch s3($30). i would like the backbeatpro(superfi4) over the backbeat titanium(metrofi200), but only if theyre better. is there any chance that the s2 will sound as nice as theultimate ears after break in, the look fit comfort feel is amazin imo if no, how about the klipsch s3?

and i called logitech today they said they cover the old ultimate ear line, so i have 1 or 2 year i forget what is it is just in case the superfi4 die (which i see is a good amount for some reason?) and replace it with a comparable one of their new line. if anyone was wondering fyi

i know there is the dudu trident, brainwavz m1 or proalpha, meelectronics sp51, soundmagic pl30 for all around the same cost, but they dont isolate as well im told and id rather get one of the three choices above.

anyone that can help is GREATLY appreciated. thanks!

anyone? this is for my final decision

I'm pretty sure no one has responded because there aren't many people that have tried the IEMs that you are looking at lol.

If I were looking into budget IEMs again, I would just buy the Soundmagic PL50 ($50) or the Meelectronic M9 ($10). Those are both excellent budget-grade IEMs.

they dont isolate at all joker said. no one has tried the kliscph s3 or metrofi 200 or 220? do they have more or less fullness than the superfi4?

What don't? The PL50 or M9? I haven't tried the PL50, so I wouldn't know how well those isolate, but the M9 isolated pretty good.

I can't compare to the SuperFi 4, I've never tried them lol.

It's not that no one has tried the MetroFi series, they just aren't that well regarded here.

:/ why not they sounded so much nicer than the klipsch s2, which didnt sound bad. i also have a inkd and a cx300 to compare to, but nothing high end. the taniums sounded great compared to all of them, and had amazong isolation, but so did the inkd with dual flange idk why? they must just have no port or something and the holes on the back are decrative looking pinhole things.

im just wondering if the superfi4(backbeat pro) will sound better than the metrofi 220, which supposdly sounds the same as the metrofi200(backbeat titanium). i like the low end the titaniums have, it sounds amazing in your face, but at the same the mids and highs are pronouced, king of sound like tweaked to sound just a little bit better its weird to decribe but

the klipsch have this too but they feel like the clairty isnt there that the metrofi seem to have thats all

thanks man, yeah it helped a bit. i acutally have the s2, and a pair of backbeat titanium(metrofi200) that im borrowing from a friend. they sound compareable, but the metrofi has like boosted mids and highs, the clairy and seperation is there that is not on the klipsch s2. they are not broken in though. do you think this will change when broken in?

i doubt it could change it to that extent, know what i mean. if it did change, i would consider the klipsch s3, becuase their design on the s2 is amazing imo

and i do want the backbeat pro(superfi4) seeing as its better on the scale than the metrofi, but im worried that ill loose all bass becusae of the balanced aramature. and yeah my budget is 50, well less, 40 becusae the backbeat pro is 40 shipped

Ok well put it this way:

Superfi4's = BA driver = literally no bass, cold in your ears due to the metal casing, but good ish isolation

Metro fi 220 = Dynamic driver = huge amount of bass, fit is an issue

I would go without even looking back to the Metrofi220's - just my advice though:

Have you looked into the CX500's and the Denon AH-C260's - they are brilliant earphones too, if not better (and at your price range)

To be quite honest I wouldn't even consider looking at the superfi4's lol...

And just another thing:

What's this with backbeat etc

It's the UE Metrofi220

and the UE superfi4

Unless I'm missing something?

the altec lansing backbeats are the metrofi200 and the superfi4 rebranded, so i can get them for cheaper. i can get the backbeat titanium for 35$ vs metrofi200 at around $45, and the backbeat pro for $40 vs superfi4 $50

also i have a pair of cx300, and they sound on par with the klipsch s2, but they are built with less quality imo. not as comfy, so much more driver flex and really no isolation, so i wouldnt want a cx500. im drumming with these and so far the only ones that gave me great isolation were my friends backbeat titaniums(metrofi200s)

problem is the backbeat pro is ported, unlike the superfi4 so that will probably kill isolation correct?

i dont really care about to coldness of the metal, im just wondering which one sounds better. you say the superfi4 have much less bass than the metrofi220? but they have much more clairty, correct? how about after the superfi4 are broken in, is the bass comparable?

i basically want a superfi4 (which should be best? most expensive) vs metrofi200 vs klipsch s3

Because they, apparently, aren't very good.

damnit, i found them for 35$. you mean to say they are the fluke of the ultimate ear lineup? then what can i buy for $40 that has great sound build and isolatino quality? do you you think the klipsch s2 or s3 will sound better or as nice as the metrofi series?
