Yup, me too. At this price point, I fully expect them to cleanly beat the 007s and hopefully match/beat? the 009s, Orpheus, R10s, etc. If they do manage to get into the 009, etc. range, I would consider them a bargain at $1945

This one probably has less useless comments

At that price point, I am expecting these to be the best there ever has been. If they produce something that is hands down the best of the best, it will be worth it in my opinion, otherwise it will be disappointing and discouraging tale of diminishing returns and price inflation.

The other thread was an impressions thread with no impressions. One starts such a thread when one has said headphones in one's possession, not when one wants to be the first poster.

Hoping they sound awesome but I have a hard time believing they'll be a top option in thier price range.  Have yet to hear an ortho that doesn't sound more closed than open and I personally don't care for a closed HP sound.

Thats true, hope lots of impressions flow in over this weekend from people at canjam.

Are the 007's not costing 2000$ too? If then I can not see why the LCD3 should beat them.

I seriously doubt that these will constitute a massive improvement over the LCD-2 -- I'd expect 5-10% at most.  I guess I'll find out in Denver soon enough...

I kind of wish that Audez'e had moved in the other direction -- introducing a lower-priced headphone with trickled-down LCD-2 technology for maybe about $500.  I would've been very interested in that.  The price of the new LCD-3 puts it squarely out of the price range I'd be willing to spend, especially when you consider that it will probably have all the same ergonomic issues that plagued the LCD-2.

Screw this upgrade desire I have with a stick the size of the QEII.

That said, everyone should take my comments in context, which is that I personally find the LCD-2 to be the very finest headphone I have heard aside from the Sony R-10.
