New Audeze LCD3 - Page 582

^ very good!

Apparently it was set to stunning for many who tried the X, whereas others were just stunned - like the comment above about it being a little too HD800.

Assuming the Audeze support response is confirmed RebelRising's comment helps me a lot. Afaik the 3 still has the lowest-mass diaphragm of the models, which should still be a significant edge in speed and detail.

Just received a reply from Audeze about Fazor upgrades to already purchased LCD-3s:

"Thank you for contacting us. You are correct, we are now fitting all models with our fazor technology. Unfortunately, we do not offer upgrades at this time. That is not to say in the future we may offer something of the sorts, but until then we are unable to upgrade, retrofit, or send out upgrade parts. Sorry for any inconvenience."

Got pretty much the same thing. I will most probably sell mine.

Guess I'll have to make my own.

That's not what I got from them sure this isn't april fools joke xD?

Unless a physical LCD-3 with fazor on it is an April fools? I don't think so :P

I am happy with my LCD-3's and new LCD-X's - they are different enough; although LCD-3's are still my favorite without fazor.. so i will keep on smiling :)

Then I'll quote what Audeze answered to me reference to fazor un LCD-3 heaphones.

And fazor tech on LCD-2?  That doesn't even make sense, would they be lowering quality on the fazor diagram on a LCD-2? It's much more plausible if it's just a different material.

Nope, don't think so. I was pretty much thinking about this for some weeks now since Tyll said that the new LCDs that he got are different sounding. Now I got the confirmation.

Did they suddenly get worse when you found out that the new ones have fazors?

Yeap, kind of biggrin.gif
I don't like their practices and I don't think it's fair for their customers. Currently I don't think I want to support them anymore even if I really like their products.

@mowglycdb what was the date of their response?

I do remember a statement early in (probably) the LCD-X thread that the technology couldn't be fitted to the LCD3, though I don't recall the source. Perhaps they since found a way?

Like much on head-fi the more we hear the foggier it gets lol

Right, thanks! Well, I doubt they developed this purported way of applying fazor to the 3 in just the last hour!

Something doesn't add up. I declare myself completely fazed.

Maybe they just tweaked it so it could still retain some of the voicing of the LCD-3 but at the same time have better treble response and other strengths over the LCD-X.
