it definitely crossed my mind... but it also occurred to me that while

the first rma, done in february of last year, may've resolved any and all issues,

Im patiently waiting for ALO/Audeze to assess mine as we speak. ALO have been professional and prompt to deal with so far. Took just under two weeks to return them to ALO express post <face palm>.

Received in LA 9th Jan > sat in Customs until 17th Jan = $132 for Newman to wear them on his beat for 8 days before he delivered them.

Just want what I paid $2k for and thats a rock solid, non-faulty set of LCD3s that last for years. If it wasnt for the sound I would have requested my $ back and said they can keep them and that  thought crossed my mind several times, gutted with an intermittent faulty driver out of the box Xmas eve but they sounded so sweet to my ears...

AnakChan - after this, at $4-6k Aussie, I will be buying my 009s in person from a shop.

Heh...that's the States for you. I've sold some of my IEMs overseas and within 24 hrs they've left Japan shores and within 40 hrs they've arrived to the west coast of US. Thereafter it was 4 days+ in customs.

I really hope that you recoup your shipping costs (sorry if you've made any mention that you got your shipping costs back 'cos I've not been following your earlier posts).

On Monday I'm helping a friend pick up a pair of SR-009s before he goes back to the States. We're going to build the KGSSHV too as a "poor man's" Liquid Lightning. If you're truly keen on the SR-009, I could pick one up for you - hopefully that previous price I quoted you last year is still valid.

Sweet mother.. you make it sound like your picking up a bottle of milk from the corner shop when you are referring to knocking up a KGSSHV !

I dream of knocking one of them up in the man cave. I often think it would be good to know some senior retired person who knew their way around a circuit board and was willing to coach me in a build like that.

Thanks for the offer on the 009s.. but like I mentioned after this experience and paying as much as you do for 009s I want to audition them personally before I leave the shop.

Only one commonly available amp is better than the KGSSHV... the BHSE.  The only way the words poor man and Liquid Lightning is if you say 'You poor man, you got a Liquid Lightning instead of a KGSSHV.' :P

I had them both for a significant time.  They are on the same plateau, just during different times of day.  One amp is there during high noon, the other closer to dusk.

Meanwhile, I recently ordered some ebonite rod from a company there in Tokyo. They shipped on Tuesday the 15th and it arrived on my doorstep on Friday the 18th. According to tracking, it arrived at customs on the 17th at 7:28 AM and left customs 24 minutes later.

Just sayin'.
