I'm going to be in Veges on the 22nd. I thought Audeze was based out of Vegas, but I'll be damned if I can find a shop that carries their product around the strip.I was hoping to maybe scoop a pair of LCD3's while I'm there.

I'm not just using the Phonitor. The comment above was just trying to identify the source of the weird noise. I'm using the LCD-3 with a variety of amps, including a Balanced Beta 22, Leben CS300XS, Zana Deux SE, etc.- Icenine2

They are in California. That Vegas address from what I can tell is setup for some tax deal where HQ is there but manufacturing (and in reality everything else) is in CA.Quote:post #2554 of 734512/16/11 at 12:41pm- Loevhagen

It' s quite "funny", but still after 170+ pages I have not picked up one good reason to buy the LCD-3, having the portfolio encompassing the LCD-2 rev.2. For $1K+ that is. I personally think the Audeze plane is on an inbound flight. Maybe it is just me...
An LCD-4 or even LCD-5: Yes, please - maybe.

The LCD-3 is way better than the LCD-2rev1. And I really do mean better, not different. I haven't heard the Rev2.
I still think the LCD-3 is a good purchase for someone who likes the LCD-2 and is willing to pay a premium a more refined version of the same headphone. But I don't think it's a good bet for someone who didn't like The LCD-2. I don't think the refenements are going to be meaningful enough if you didn't like the 2, you're better off with a different headphone that has more drastic changes from the Audeze signature. Either HE500/HE6 or HD800 (or 700!)
Basically, I think the LCD-3 should be thought of as LCD-2 rev3 for those considering the purchase.

Thanks. I find it troublesome that the majority of the comparison reviews of the LCD-3 is towards the rev.1s. The rev.2s; I have some vague feeling that that change medio 2011 made by Audeze brought the "...fancy schmancy Lotus dia..." to the rev. 2 premature.
Having the chinese 500 and 6, and the american made R1 / R2, I actually do not miss the nr. 3 version of the LCD. Maybe next year; I would crave for the 4th or the 5th version of same (american). Pure speculation of course...

HiFiMAN will recreate jade, electrostatic. It is to be said a competitor of 009 but substantially cheaper.

The LCD-3 is also better than the LCD-2 rev. 2.But yes, the laws of diminished returns have kicked in at this range; regardless, the LCD-3s are my favourite headphones I've had the pleasure of listening too.

Audez'e Initial Impressions:
Old Headphones - Denon AH-D7000
New Headphones - Audez'e LCD-3
Wow, hear this thing
it need plenty more power to drive than my old one wow,
My amp is going to get real work to do, with the Denon's volume used to be:
35% on amp
20-25% on pc
lol
Barely breaking a swet, but with this phones i had to feed the amp
50% and 35% on pc.
OMG, hear that bass. what d BBQ!.
Money well spent! And the phones haven't even been broken in yet, I've heard it have to hit 100hrs before it sounds "good" and 200hrs before it reach its max potential!
:D
This headphones sounds like a speaker on your head, but with all d clarity and quality of a headphones.
OMG! i just put back on my denons, what the hell was I listening to for the past 2 years?
It sounds, thin, and lifeless. Was this the same headphones I've been using all along? Was this the best sound my ears ever heard? I cant believe, this is d best thing my ears ever heard, sounding like this now.I didn't expect the difference to be THAT! Huge, cause like all change in quality (Audio or Video) you doesn't know how better it is until you go back. So I said ok, time to go back, my face got a very confused look, WOW, This D7000 was sounding soooooo good before, what the hell!
I put on 90% bass and this old headphones still struggling to keep up with the LCD-3, wow!
This is a very very very veyr VERY! Addictive and DANGEROUS hobby
You know why? Seeing that i push my amp to 50% to drive this monster, now I'm wondering
what a more powerful amp could do
.....
teary eyes....
WHAT! D! HELL!, Trasnfoemrs 3 ! *eye pop* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Speechless, Wow, Amazing!
(Tested @ : 1.05.39 and 1.38.00)
Jeeze,
This headphones' amazing
It's truly truly amazing
And it's fresh out d box, no burn in?
Wow
The Denon D7000 is a great headphones, truly epic in its own right.
But the Audez'e LCD-3 has taken the bar, and destroyed it, it exists on it's own scale, in it's own corner of the universe!….now to get back to listening!post #2562 of 734512/16/11 at 8:39pm- Austin Morrow

Would you like to provide a source? Because when I spoke to Head-Direct last, they didn't even know what I was talking about when I mentioned HeAudio. I had to link them to their own website. They certainly had no clue when they would ever (IF they would ever) see more products from them.

Why is that troublesome? Seems like a lot of people who purchased the LCD-3 are LCD-2 rev. 1 owners. I can see rev. 2 owners being more ambivalent as a whole, especially if they went from rev. 1 to rev. 2. A lot of early reports suggested minimal improvement for the price of the LCD-3, so if you just invested in a rev. 2... yeah, I can see being a bit less included to buy an LCD-3. I've seen a few rev. 2 owners saying they'd rather wait for the LCD-4.
Now, I'm not saying it's not worth it. Knowing what I know having listened to the LCD-3, I'd still buy it all over again. But I don't think it's quite so easy to flippantly say "sure it's worth double the price."And as far as rev. 1 comparisons go, the LCD-3 sounds more like the rev. 1 in overall sound signature to me than it does the rev. 2. It's definitely an improvement in just about every respect to the rev. 1, but it still has that sound overall to my ears. The LCD-2 rev. 2 on the other hand sounded less similar to the two, and that comes down to the treble presence imo.
