Scratches on headphone jack

Well I've got some mild scratches on the headphone 3.5mm male plug bit, very light scratches and some small scratches on the black bit (you can't see them in a photo with a 12 megapixel camera if that helps)

I'm wondering if I should be worried if the jack is going to break any time soon (sounds fine for now) as its my first pair of slightly expensive headphones :(

Thanks!

I'd worry about it when it becomes a problem.

And that's when you simply reterminate it, a replacement plug is only a few dollars.

You'll know when the plug is about to go when the sound cuts out/comes back when you jiggle the plug. Don't worry, it won't harm the headphone drivers in any way. wink.gif

I wouldn't worry about it, the jack isn't in any risk of breaking.

You always can reterminate it, it's easy.

It sounds like just normal wear.  It does not harm anything and it is unlikely to wear out the plug.

As already mentioned. if the plug or cord fails it is a straight forward repair.

Listen away!
