Low/mid budget speaker suggestion ~ £100

Dear all,

I am a beginner in the audio scene and am looking for a good audio system to compliment my Macbook Pro. Am a student, staying in a flat hence 1) space is a constrain but so long the system is not too big then it is fine, 2) soundproof is quite bad here in UK but I like my music a bit louder (but not excessively loud. Occasionally, when my housemates are out, I love to play loud music with heavier bass).

I listen to popular tracks (at the moment the typical one such as LMFAO, David Guetta, Pittbull, etc a lot. I also dig powerful vocal like Adele, Jessie etc, and also the likes of Bruno Mars etc. And sometimes I listen to classics, melodies and instrumentals. I also listen to plenty of Korean pop music. I like heavy bass when I am in the mood (i.e. Pittbull, David, LMFAO etc) and tune them louder, and I appreciate good balance of mid/lows.

I was planning to buy the Kardon Harman Soundstick III but it seems like there's quite a lot of options too if I opt to go for a speakers+amp set. Can someone recommend me a few combinations that hovers around my target price? I am aiming to spend about 80 to 120 pounds.

Note: I am a beginner in audio system and doesn't own anything else (at least not here in UK).

Thank you.
