For Sale:
FS: APL 3910 universal player/DAC with 32bit AKM dacs

Will Ship To: Anywhere

I bought this used in 2007 and sent it to APL to be upgraded to the latest spec which uses six AKM 32 bit dacs and an ECC99 based output stage with Lundahl output transformers. This unit has the digital input option (24/192 compatible) and that's how I've used it for the last year or so, only spinning a silver disk a couple of times. That is my reason for selling since I just never use disks and most of the time I just use my computer setup. Now my new DAC is shipping so it is time to let this one go.  The player plays CD, DVD-A and SACD and you can use it direct to amps since it has a digital volume control.

The player now features its original black chassis but I have a extra drive and an extra Denon remote I got from a silver donor player. That one was meant to upgrade the black player to silver but it was damaged in shipping so I scrapped it for parts. This player was also originally a 117V unit and with no way of changing it to 230V I had SumR custom make a step down transformer for me which fit in the very cramped PSU so the player now works at 230V natively. I had to make some mods to the back as can be seen but the transformer can be removed or just bypassed before shipping it out to work on 117V again.

The player does sound just lovely and I've only had one issue with it. Shortly after I got it the sound became a garbled mess so I swapped out the tube and that cleared it up and it's been perfect ever since. Right now it is running a gold pin ECC99 which will be included. It plays any SACD and DVD-A disks I've used without a hitch and the DAC input handles 24/192 perfectly.

Shipping will be quite a bit since this is one heavy beast but I do have an original Denon box so it will be nice and safe. Also included are the stock Denon remote and the APL Sony remote used to control the volume and input.

Price reduced and payment can also be arranged via a wire transfer which is has very low fees.
