3ch board dact attenuator
or should I have to change the gain to 8 like everyone else does, my LCD-2s are quite enjoyable @ 10-12 o clock, haven't tried with an HE-6 yet

My guess is you will be at around 2-3 o'clock
I would not change the gain until you top it out. Gain of 8 is too high for most conventional dynamic headphones IMO, 5 is an excellent compromise if you have big hungry planars as well as conventional dynamics.
For the HE-6s...5 gain for a 3 channel B22 is not enough. Just ask my good friend baka1969...he mentioned even on max it still wasn't loud enough. A gain of 8 would be ideal for the HE-6s. Problem though...a gain of 8 on the B22 would be too much for most other headphones.
