Flipping sweet. I'm totally using them to order.
I was going to put my Audioengine A5's up for trade for a set of passive speakers that were comparable. I've had the A5's for almost a year now and am kind of getting sick of the insane output volume of my Gamma2 coupled with the low end op-amp quirkiness of the A5's. Since the A5's right speaker is passive and the left is active, the power management circuit inside makes it so that if the volume is turned down on them, the left channel cuts out while the right plays (or was it vice versa?). Anyways, I wanted to build a class A dual mono amp that was between 30-130 watts and pair it with a set of nice passive speakers. the beta and sigma were ones I was looking at.
Do you know how those tube amp kits are from jeff's site in terms of audio quality? I'm going to be getting a denon D2000 and once I get a job I'll be upgrading to Audeze LCD2. I really wanted to make a tube amp but I dont know the first thing about amplifier circuitry or reviews....
