I'm currently running an iMac->Music Streamer ii+->E9 rig. The E9 is the weakest link, but what amp would be good to replace it in that chain?

Something that doesn't overlaod the input with that source.

I'm quite happy With MSII -> Matrix M-Stage -> HD 650. I hope that doesn't have the same problem, I wouldn't know lol.

It's generally said that the HD650 pairs up extremely well with tube amps such as dark voice 336, schiit valhalla, LD MKIII or MKIV.

I'm currently running my pair on the LD MKIV with mullard M8100 tubes. They sound fantastic.

One definite upgrade over the E9 is Burson Audio's HA-160.  It's a bit expensive, but it's a superb amp than compares quite well to amps in the 1000 dollar level.

x2, thats a good choice. For less money, a Schiit Asgard is good too.

Yeah, I've been looking at an asgard or a lyr....the thing is, I may want to go balanced at some point and I don't want to have to start over again.
