The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)

Now the problem that I worry about. As you can see from the picture the fazored ones do not sit straight for some reason. On my head they feel fine . The problem is the angle of the metal hemicycle holds the left driver (the metal pin that you can adjust actually) is lower that the one on the right. I can't inflect that metal part by hand. I have seen one more picture in this thread that they look like this. Do you think is a problem? Should I ask for a new pair?
That will require too much effort sending them from Greece and I would like to avoid it. Are anybody elses like that? I can get more pictures if it's not clear. Maybe I could take it apart and try to fix it but it's a brand new pair...

It might be a loose screw, unscrew the hemicycle and make sure the pin is seated properly. I had the same issue, there's no need to send it back.

  Thank you for the reply.
Which part should I unscrew? How can I check how it is seated?

I'm at work right now so I cant take any pictures.

in this picture you see a screw that is loose. unscrew it, then make sure the piece fits then rescrew it in with the washer.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the problem.

The angle of that metal part of the hemicycle that you cycled in red is not the same.

Maybe it needs bending...

That's exactly the problem. Mine has that too.

Did you do anything to address the problem?

I have to put one side one click lower in order for the headphones to be completely level on my head.
Practically I don't think there is a problem but for 1k headphones I was expecting something better.

On a second look I see that I can't bend either side. The one that needs to be lowered can't because If I do, when the driver tilts, the screw will hit the bamboo. The other side that needs to be heightened can't because if I do, the angle will be too wide and the pin won't be able to sit properly.
Now it is at the best possible condition...so the only thing that  can be done is for Audeze to send me new hemicycles.
I don't think it's worth the trouble and money to send the whole thing form Greece to California.

This problem has been reported before I think and Audeze replaced the bent bracket...

I would definitely contact Audeze about this and see if they will send you a new pair of brackets (pair to make sure you don't end up in the same situation again).  You should probably refer them to your post with all the pics as well so they can see that it was a new set and that you were unboxing them when you noticed.

I tried to bend it to a correct position and royally #%&@ed up the headphones. The screw through the hole would never stay in place, and would back itself out, then rub against the wood, damaging it. It got even worse when the yoke rods froze up on one side, and I messed up that side when it slipped out of my hand and bent the pin that controls how far the headphones pitch (the u-shaped hole in the side of the cup). It started scratching too. I was really embarassed and never wanted to mention it, but I think it's important that I do. It's a great looking system, but HIGHLY non-functional. Audeze should do better. I'm going to email them soon (and I'll be sure to mention the scratching was 100% my fault, but it should never have been an issue in the first place).

DON'T TRY TO FIX ANY PART OF THE SUSPENSION STRUCTURE WITHOUT TALKING TO AUDEZE FIRST!!!!!!!!!!

@g4747 Where did you buy the R2? What date was it manufactured?

From a dealer in Athens. The manufacture date is 6/3/2014. 542 serial.

I e-mailed Audeze with a pick of them on the table and mentioned they are brand new.
I hope they will send me brackets and not require to send the pair back to them. But I don't know if they send parts for the customers to fix any problems because if the product is under warranty they wouldn't want customers to mess it up even more and then blame Audeze.
Not very happy to be honest.

What's the name of the dealer? I asked a dealer in here and they can't find any NIB R2.

Are you sure you didn't flip the SNs? 542 is LCD-2F, R2 is 532. Your pics shows one is 532 (first post) and the other 542 (later post).

Yes, we bought two pairs.
I have the bent fazored ones, my father the older one.
I don't know the details because my father made the communication but I can find out. Is there a reason for your question?
