Agree with M-13 review. Also don't forget, even though I am an HE-500 fan, the LCD's are really nice to look at! The 500's are rather lackluster in appearence IMO.

I've owned the LCD-2 alongside the HD650 on two separate occasions, and for extended periods. Both times the conclusion was the same. I prefer the HD650, despite the pros people gush over when talking about the LCD-2. The Senn through the various systems I've owned is just more engaging. The LCD-2 is a side-grade IMO.

Agreed as well although it's same case for HD600's. The LCD2's may be good on technicalities over the Senn's, the Senn's are just more engaging, musical and easier to listen to for long periods of time with any genre which is why it is still one of the most well regarded headphones today.

I think one word describes the HD650 well:

I liked the HD600s more and had I bought them, I would have kept them much longer. But you're right 2008, pickings were slim.

That's been my experience... but with the LCD-2. It's great when the volume is cranked. At the low to moderate levels I listen at the LCD-2 is dynamically flat, with a homogenous presentation. Dull. Lifeless. Overweight.
