Just don't talk about it too much in this thread.  There seems to be a lot of hositility toward the fact that cables sound different and can improve sound quality, not just comfort or aesthetics.

Speaking about cables I snatched back my receiver that I borrowed to my parents  but forget about the wiring. I can see which two wires that belong to left and right on my LCD-2 stock cable (original version)

 

Am I right in that the red and pink is the + and the white and almost white is the negative poles?

Yep, that's right - what you mean is there's Red/Pink (+) and White/Clear (-) right?

Thanks for the confirmation. Yes that was what I meant. This old yamaha receiver is a perfect match sound as good as I remembered it despite I am now handicapping it with the stock cable where I run norse audio on my dedicated headphone amplifiers. Not bad for 20$ receiver. In a way kind of annoying it does that but oh well...

Agree.  In fact, the LCD-2 is what makes me feel at least ok being without a stat rig for a while.

Same here. However it´s so good I feel no need to go the even more expensive stax route. I can hear things that can improved but why bother when it´s never in the way of the music :)
